Andy Alderson – CEO & Founder
Andy set up Autorama in 2004 as a used vehicle retailer before moving into B2B leasing of commercial vehicles in 2007. During his 12 year career in motor dealer groups, Andy developed key management skills that proved invaluable in building his own business.
Andy has a genuine passion for outstanding customer service and has founded Autorama on this ethos. This was re-enforced with Autorama's 8 Point Price Promise and 5 Star Customer Service Charter; absolute differentiators in a crowded market.
Andy revolutionised the leasing broker market by launching a major TV and radio advertising campaign in 2013. In 2014 he took the unprecedented step of becoming title sponsor to the then Football Conference (latterly renamed The National League) , a decision resulting in huge growth in sales and brand recognition. As a result Autorama has delivered market-leading volumes of vehicles, creating a clear competitive price advantage against the competition. Andy is a true innovator and is about to launch a number of value added services to his customer base. He sees fantastic growth opportunities for Autorama as the SME sector expands.
David Bernstein – Group Chairman
A highly successful, respected and longstanding business man, David was appointed as Group Chairman in 2015. He brings to the table a truly impressive background of success in business and sports administration. As a former Chairman of the Football Association one of his many achievements was overseeing the rebuilding of Wembley Stadium. As the current Chairman of the International Red Cross David is responsible with his Board for managing its many global challenges. David is also the current Chairman of the major retail success story and iconic brand Ted Baker PLC.
Jon Gilbert – Commercial Director
Jon has over 25 years of experience working in the vehicle leasing and fleet management sector. He has held Board positions at Lloyds TSB Autolease, ING Carlease, Alphabet (BMW's leasing arm) and Masternaut Ltd.
As Commercial Director at Autorama, Jon has overseen the implementation of a new order to delivery process, transforming the customer experience. This entailed a complete overhaul of the company's management system resulting in a 70% improvement in delivery timescales. He's driving the company's ethos for outstanding customer service by facilitating the implementation of the 5 Star Customer Service Charter, working with the management team to ensure all staff are fully trained to deliver on our promises. Jon has ultimate line responsibility for the Customer Services and Order Administration Departments. He's currently working on the launch of several additional product channels and initiatives that will deliver further value to customers and profitability to Vanarama.
Gary Lemon – Sales Director
Gary has 15 years' worth of motor industry experience having held senior sales positions across several dealer groups before joining Autorama as Sales Director in 2005. Gary has full P&L responsibility for the Autorama sales department and has overseen the significant growth in the business, having increased his team by over 400% in recent years. He's developed a sales process that delivers real value for our customers. This works by finding the right vehicle and the right finance method through asking structured questions. He works closely with our key vehicle manufacturer and dealer group contacts to maximise strategic sales opportunities and ensure enough stock is available to fulfil growing demand. Gary has played a big part in shaping Autorama.
Helen King – Non-Executive Director
Helen has a vast array of board level experience in the newspaper industry. She was the youngest senior manager ever appointed at Thomson Newpapers PLC and ultimately became Managing Director of Central Counties Newpapers, part of Johnstone Press PLC. She is now a very successful business consultant; a key member of the Autorama senior management team. She acts as adviser and confidante to the business whilst being responsible for recruitment strategy and HR processes. She has been essential in managing an extensive recruitment drive that has seen Autorama double in headcount over the last 18 months. She provides 1-2-1 coaching to managers and team leaders, facilitating personal development that's usually only available in larger organisations.
Steve Mark – Brand Director
Prior to joining Autorama last summer, Steve came from a background of SME marketing having run his own small business for nearly 10 years. During this time he successfully built a business servicing the marketing needs of local companies, many similar to those of Autorama's customers.
As Brand Director at Autorama, Steve has been responsible for rolling out the companies' sponsorship of The Football Conference (latterly renamed The National League), one of the biggest sports sponsorship properties in the UK. During this time the company has grown by 56% and achieved recognition for its sponsorship by receiving a nomination for a BT Sports Industry Award. Steve is focused on improving the website conversion rate and improving the post quote customer journey to deliver extra sales volume.
