Management Accountant

Vanarama is a fast paced, fast growing company, employing over 200 employees. We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our growing finance team. The role will include a wide range of responsibilities working in a thriving and dynamic environment. The right candidate will possess, or be working towards, a professional accountancy qualification. You will report directly to the Financial Controller.

The core role will include the following:

  • Production of month end management accounts in a timely manner, including review with managers across the business
  • Extraction of data from CRM, reconciliation to SAGE and investigation of any issues arising
  • Preparation of accounts for a related business
  • General support and reporting on accounting issues arising during the month
  • Assisting with forecasting and preparation of budgets
  • Reconciliation of ledger accounts including maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger
  • Posting of month end journals
  • Assisting with banking activities, including payments and reconciliations
  • Assisting with Direct Debit collections and producing analysis of those products
  • Sagepay reconciliation and funding reconciliations for our various funding partners
  • Support for the Financial Controller in relation to any other ad-hoc projects and requests

Key Competencies:

  • Good underlying knowledge of core accountancy practice and principles
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • 3-5 years working in a finance/management accountant role
  • Experience with Sage 50 advantageous
  • Qualified or working toward a professional accountancy qualification
  • Strong Excel skills including pivots and vlookups
  • Clear and effective written communication skills
  • A commitment to high standards of customer service
  • A team player focused on achieving departmental goals
