Citroen Relay L3H2 Refrigerated Van
The Citroen Relay L3H2 Refrigerated Van is part of the popular Citroen Relay van range. It is the largest vehicle of its type on offer from the French manufacturer and, as the name suggests, this model includes a refrigeration unit for cold cargo.
The Relay Refrigerated Van is in keeping with the style of the rest of its brothers and sisters. Practical and simple in its design, it includes small touches such as rounded corners softened lines. However, some of its most identifiable features, including its large black bumpers and side protective strips, again are a symbol of its utilitarian credentials. In the Relay's case, it is very much function before form.
Measuring a massive 2.524m in height, 5.998m in length and 2.508m in width, the Relay is imposing in its stature. However, the roomy cargo area, which reaches 1.932m in height, 3.705m in length and 1.87m in width, is only achieved because of its bulk. The van can take a whopping 1399kg payload, making it one of the most robust in its class. There is a side-loading door to enable you to make the most of this space, which is of course cooled using refrigeration technology. This model of the Relay also has a rooftop ventilation unit, to allow air to be drawn from around the van to enable the cooling facility to work.
The vehicle is powered by a 16-valve diesel engine, which delivers 130 bhp. While the CO2 emissions of 229 g/km may sound high compared to some other vehicles, they are in line with Euro 5 emission standards. Similarly, you can expect to get around 32.5 mpg from fuel, which is impressive owing to the van's weight and dimensions.
In the three-seat cab, there are the touches you'd expect from a premium vehicle – overspeed warning, sat nav system, seatbelt warning indicator, power assisted steering, etc. There is also a radio/CD and MP3 player for entertainment.
