It is important to perform certain checks before you start your day. Vanarama's daily checklist should ensure nothing is missed.
Documentation
1 Valid MOT certificate
2 Valid Insurance
3 Maximum authorised mass or GVW in log book matches plate on vehicle
Van Exterior
4 Windscreen is clean and undamaged
5 Vehicle tax and licensing valid
6 Visible, undamaged number plates
7 Doors working correctly
8 Tyres inflated to correct pressure and in good condition
9 Mirrors undamaged and clean
10 Exhaust is in good condition with no signs of leaks or movement
11 Reflective surfaces are clean and undamaged
12 Load is secured
13 No leaks from fuel cap
14 No fluid leaks from van
Under the bonnet
15 Battery is clean and secure
16 Leads are attached and in good condition
17 Perform fluid level checks
Behind the wheel
18 Seat belts are in working order
19 Horn is in working order
20 Lights and indicators work correctly
21 Windscreen wipers and washers work correctly
22 All gauges and warning systems are working correctly
23 Adequate quantity of fuel for journey
24 Tachograph set if vehicle has a maximum authorised mass or GVW exceeds 3.5 tonnes
25 Speedometer is in working order
26 Brakes work correctly, and do not pull the van to one side or feel spongy or slack
