The Comfort Crew Van is ahead of the game in terms of loading vehicles. This sleek grey crew van officially seats 6 although only at a pinch – 5 would have a more comfortable journey, but the space is there.
It's designed for safety, with dual airbags in the front and anti-whiplash head restraints in five of the six seats. The spacious interior offers generous storage compartments, as well as the usual functions expected of a panel van: MP3-compatible CD player, air conditioning, Sat Nav and adjustable steering height. The dual sliding side doors are a key feature of the Iload van series, and make parking, loading and passenger access so much easier. There are even pop-out style windows for better ventilation – something a crew of 5 or 6 will appreciate on a warm day on the job.
The bulkhead is heavy duty and allows for rear vision but the downside being that the bulkhead is steadfastly bolted in place, reducing removal options. However, the interior of the cargo section is spacious, 1620 x 1585 x 1350mm, and takes a maximum load of 1330kg. On top of this there's an exterior towing capacity of 2000kg, which more than doubles its carrying ability. As standard in these types of vans, there are the heavy-duty hooks for securing loads, but also a thick protective urethane floor. At the same time, even when loaded to full capacity, the Crew Van is smooth to drive thanks to 253lb of torque and five-speed manual gearbox.
What's particularly surprising, given the van's loading capacity, is that it offers excellent fuel economy of 8.6/100km. If you need a safe, affordable van for your loading crew, the Hyundai Crew Van is an excellent choice; it delivers in terms of comfort and safety, but also in space, capacity and accessibility.
