British Gas has taken delivery of the first of 2,000 new Volkswagen vans as it begins updating its fleet.
Volkswagen, which has a range of vans available for contract hire and van leasing, will supply a mixture of Caddy and Caddy Maxi vans, plus a Crafter dropside and the trial of a Transporter Shuttle minibus.
They will feature speed limiters and racking to help control any load if the vehicle has to brake heavily.
The vans will be used by British Gas engineers and energy experts.
Colin Marriott, general manager for British Gas fleet said: "Our on-going strategic relationship with Volkswagen is very important to our business.
"It enables us to provide our engineers with safe and reliable vehicles, which meet highest quality standards and offer excellent value in terms of whole life costs."
This September will see the new generation VW Caddy and Caddy Maxi range make its debut at the IAA Hanover Commercial Vehicle show.
