Citroen Nemo named most economical van

Those wanting an economical model for van leasing may want to consider the Citroen Nemo.

The van has been named the UK's Most Economical Van for the third year running in the MPG Marathon, organised by Fleet World magazine.

Achieving a fuel of 81.93mpg, the Nemo 1.4HDi van outperformed its competitors on the gruelling 399.4 mile event.

The van beat its official combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 64.2mpg by 27.62 per cent.

It is the third year in a row the Nemo has won the competition.

Driver John Kendall said the Midlands-based route of the marathon had proved tough.

"We had to maintain a respectably high 30mph average speed to avoid penalties, as well as successfully ensuring that the Nemo delivered its optimum fuel economy," he said.

"This year's event certainly showed that the Citroen Nemo van is very fuel efficient on all types of roads and in all driving conditions."

Other vans in the Citroen range include the Berlingo, Dispatch and relay.
