Dinex to Save Van Owners and Fleet Operators?

With the new London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) regulations coming into play from the 1st January 2011, Dinex Exhaust has announced that it is not all doom and gloom for the larger van which is non Euro 3 complaint

Under the terms of the scheme, fleet operators and van owners have 28 days grace in complying with the new regulations, providing they can provide proof that an order is in place to modify their commercial vehicles accordingly.

Larger vans are to be affected by LEZ charges for the first time from the 1st January, whereby non Euro 3 compliant vans will be charged £100 per day to drive in the zone, and could face fines up to £500 for non payment.

A Transport for London spokesman said: "We're aware a small number of operators are facing difficulties in getting filters fitted. We would encourage people to get in touch to provide evidence (of orders placed), which we will look at on a case by case basis."

Director of Congestion Charging and Traffic Enforcement, Nick Fairholme said the 28 day policy was"in keeping with TfL's aim that operators should comply with the LEZ emissions standards rather than pay a daily charge or face a penalty".

Dinex is open between Christmas and New Year and should your vehicle not be compliant to the new Euro 3 regulations and you plant to make regular trips into London, you would be well advised to pay them a visit.
