Iveco Respond to Customer Demand

In response to customer demand Iveco are planning to launch the 'DriveAway' scheme.

Under the scheme, customer will be able to choose form a range of bodies for their Iveco 3.5 tonne chassis cab and crew cab commercial vehicles. The vehicles will be conversion ready and displayed on forecourts of participating dealerships.

Options available include dropside, Luton, and tipper vehicles. Currently, should a customer require a tipper rather than dropside Iveco for example, the customer places the order and then hunts around for a body builder firm to carry out the conversion. The whole process can take weeks. The new scheme should in theory be much faster.

As well as customer demand Iveco management also said it was preparing for the European Whole Vehicle Type Approval legislation which has become compulsory for all new LCVs from October last year, and existing LCVs have until April 2013 to become compliant.

The new regulation is expected to reduce the amount of UK van body builders firms significantly.

Iveco however, are speaking to nine body builder firms which could partner with the van manufacturer to perform the conversions.

Iveco marketing director, Marta Nappo said: "The DriveAway scheme will enable customers to get conversions on the road quickly."

He went on to say that key benefits such as lower cost and higher resale value, reduced delivery time, and advantages of dealing with one point of sale rather than several to get the conversion done, will all be present under the new scheme.

Purchases under the DriveAway scheme will come with a three year, unlimited mileage warranty on both the body and the chassis.
