Join the Van Excellence Scheme and Reduce Van Insurance Premiums and Fuel Costs

With van insurance premiums and fuel cost on the rise, it maybe time for you as an owner driver or fleet operator to cut the cost of both.

The Van Excellence Scheme run and organised by the Freight Transport Association (FTA) is a code of practice for all van operators of all sizes. Established to provide guidelines for anyone connected with the UK's van sector, it effectively has two aims and these are to reduce the amount of accidents on the road and to reduce fuel consumption.

Many businesses have joined the scheme and it is partnered and backed by many household names. GreenRoad is the latest to join.

The Van Excellence Scheme is arguably one of the few industry accreditations which can say it gets results. On average, fleet operators and owner drivers who have been awarded accreditation see fuel savings of 10%, and have 50% less accidents where a collision was involved.

One of the reasons the Van Excellence Scheme works is the code of practice was devised by van operators for van operators, with businesses sharing knowledge to help make the scheme and working practices more relevant.

To become a member of the Van Excellence Scheme a strict code of practice must be adhered to and businesses need to show evidence that they have managed to stick to the code.

The cost savings on van insurance premiums and fuel make joining the scheme a must for anyone connected with the van industry.
