London's T-Charge zone will hit small businesses the hardest

London assembly member Shaun Bailey believes the T-charge, and the planned expansion of the Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), is going to put jobs at risk. Vanarama's Tom Roberts reports.

Up to 10,000 of the oldest, most polluting vehicles are expected every weekday to be liable for the new £10 emissions levy which operates ON TOP OF the existing Congestion Charge.

Small business people will be hit the hardest

Failure to pay the daily charge results in a £130 fine - reduced to £65 if paid within 14 days - and Bailey says that small businesses with older vehicles will be the hardest hit, facing fees of £2,600 a year or having to find a lump of money to renew their vehicles.

If you are looking to renew your vehicle, Vanarama can definitely help you with that. Brand-new vehicles at affordable monthly prices are our specialty - take a look here.
