New Cybit product could help van contract hirers manage taxes

A new product from telematics provider Cybit could help fleet van contract hirers manage their taxes.
The Tax & Expense Manager module is an add-on for the company's Fleetstar fleet tracking and management system.
It incorporates a driver identification system via a private website to allow fleet managers and drivers to record individual journeys.
This can then be used to provide proof of business versus private mileage for HMRC and indentify any potential tax issues.
John Wisdom, Cybit's sales and marketing director, said the system was an example of shift in telematics whereby the drivers themselves contribute and directly benefit.
"It provides them with less administration and is a simple method of record keeping. The service also provides opportunities to gain employee buy-in and begin an education process that examines the broader benefits of vehicle telematics," he added.
Cybit is the UK's largest supplier of fleet telematics solutions and currently tracks around 40,000 vehicles across the country.
