Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council have proposed a 'zero emission zone' in Oxford city centre. Vanarama's Tom Roberts reports.
This means that Oxford city centre is likely to be the world's first zero emission zone, with the ban planned for introduction in phases.
How will it work?
It will start with banning some vehicle types on just a small number of streets in 2020 and, as vehicle tech develops, move to all vehicle types across the whole city centre in 2035.
It's an interesting move, and we'll make sure to keep you updated on this story as it develops.
