Renault Kangoo ZE to Make Electric Van Impact?

With the delivery of the first Renault Kangoo ZE to a UK business the stats and figures point to the fact that the Renault Kangoo could become a pioneer in the electric van industry.

Murrays the Printers based in Milton Keynes has taken delivery of the first electrically powered Renault Kangoo, boss of the company Patrick Chard said the vehicle ticked all the boxes.

The mass produced Renault Kangoo ZE which recently won a van of the year award from What Van? Costs £17,000 with a monthly battery fee of £60. Even with today's high energy prices, to fully charge the vehicle overnight costs £3.

There are 21 ZE expert dealerships throughout the UK. These dealerships have invested in facilities to showcase the Renault Kangoo ZE.

Ian Plummer, commercial boss of Renault UK said: "Several well known UK companies have already ordered Kangoo Van ZEs for their fleet requirements so we're sure many private customers will join Mr Chard in reaping the rewards of lower-cost and greener electric motoring."

According to Renault their electric van will travel for 106 miles on one charge, and has the same load capabilities as its petrol counterpart.

To promote the Renault Kangoo ZE further, Renault's preferred partner British Gas is offering green incentives such as green energy tariffs to make the vehicle more appealing.

Providing the early feedback is good, the Renault Kangoo ZE could be an introduction to a green shift into the commercial vehicle sector.
