The way to more business leads? It's written on the van

Nearly half of van drivers are missing out on the opportunity to improve local brand awareness and give their business a more professional look. In fact a *recent survey of our customers has highlighted that of the switched-on firms which have already had their vehicle professionally sign-written, almost half believe it gives their business a more professional appearance. What's more, an impressive 15% have witnessed an increase in valuable enquiries for work, because their van was effectively acting as a mobile advertising billboard.

So the question is, with professional sign-writing costing from as little as £100, then why are half of our customers not bothering to invest in it? When asked the question almost 30% said that they had simply not had the time. With such powerful evidence that sign-writing your van can help your business though, it really is worth taking time out to get it done. Of course, it's not just a matter of taking your vehicle to the sign-writers. You do need to consider the wording and design first. So, here are a few pointers on what to consider before you take the plunge into what could be the wisest money spent on your business for a long time.

  • The best way to sign write a leased van is to use vinyl because it's possible to remove at the end of the contract, or indeed if its purpose changes. This is done in a similar way to removing wallpaper, by using heat.
  • Make sure that the text is clear and simple to read. Remember, people need to be able to read it when the van is on the move!
  • Keep contact details to a minimum. People reading your van are likely to be out and about. An easy-to-remember response number or website is important.
  • The rear of the van is the best place for text. Details about your business can then be read by those behind.
  • Don't make the graphic too cluttered with information as this will make it tricky to read. Remember, less is more!
  • Vibrant colours with vivid contrasts are eye-catching.
  • When it comes to choosing a graphics company, while competitive price is important, so is quality of workmanship. A badly sign-written van could do more harm than good.
