With the World Cup taking place this summer in South Africa, no doubt many van contract hire drivers will be enjoying a drink or two while watching the football.
However, motorists have been warned to make sure that they do not drive while over the limit, particularly the morning after an evening spent drinking.
According to breathalyzer maker AlcoSense, 18 per cent of those who get caught drink driving do so the next morning.
It has issued a series of facts on the matter to help football fans avoid this pitfall.
AlcoSense advises that if you have drunk more than 3 pints of beer or 3 large glasses of wine in the evening you could be over the limit the next day. Furthermore, having a cold or are feeling under the weather could double the time it takes the body to process alcohol.
It also points out that the notion that drinking coffee, sleeping, slapping yourself round the face or taking a cold shower will help you drive is a myth.
The World Cup starts in Johannesburg on June 11th.
