Van leasing customers taking risks with maintenance?

A survey from Ford suggests that van leasing customers could be taking risks by neglecting to carry out essential maintenance on their vehicles.
The van leasing manufacturer found that 15 per cent of all motorists admit to having skipped or postponed routine servicing of their car or van in an effort to save money.
Furthermore, 18 per cent of those interviewed have no form of breakdown cover.
Young drivers were found to be the worst offenders, with 35 per cent of 18 to 24 year olds and 28 per cent of 25 to 34 year olds foregoing roadside assistance.
Mike Weatherston, group service marketing manager at Ford, said: "It's a story we hear often but while trying to avoid the cost, many of these drivers could regret skipping basic maintenance and roadside cover."
One of the reasons van leasing customers may be looking to cut back on expenses is the rising cost of petrol, which recently hit record highs.
