Now may be the time to consider leasing a new van as demand for new commercial vehicles is on the rise with the likely result of pushing up prices.
Statistics from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) reveal that, in March, 160,980 new vans were registered in the EU, a 12.4 per cent rise compared to the same time last year.
Numbers were also up for the first quarter of 2010, with 371,702 new vans registered, 3.8 per cent more compared to the same period a year ago.
The UK saw demand rise far above the EU average, with registrations up 16.2 per cent year-on-year in March and 13.3 per cent for the quarter.
Other major markets such as France, Germany and Italy also saw significant rises, ACEA said.
The organisation's figures support those recently released by the Scoiety of Motoring Manufacturers and Traders which revealed the number of new vans registered in March increased by 16.3 per cent compared to February.
