Hello, I am a UK start up business and my main place of operation will be in the Republic of Ireland. I want to lease a vehicle in the UK but work most of the year in the Republic. To import a vehicle to the ROI you must change the vehicle to Irish plates within a month, (being easy enough to change the plates back to UK). Is it possible to do this on a lease if the business is based in the UK. Thanks.

Hello Alex, thanks for your question. Yes, the majority of vehicles we lease can be registered on Irish plates, please get in touch with one of the sales team on 01442 838193 who will be happy to help you with this query. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

I am about to launch a consultancy business for the construction and highways industries and considering leasing a vehicle, small van. could you supply vans kitted out with chapter 8 markings and beacons or would I be allowed to have the work carried out ? also my company markings on the vehicle? many thanks

Hello Dean, thanks for your question. Yes! We can fit the markings and beacons prior to delivery so you receive the van ready to go, the only thing you would need to source yourself if the signwriting and make sure its removed before the van is handed back. If you would like to discuss this in further detail, please feel free to contact one of our specialists on 01442 838193. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

Hi there, I have a quote at the moment on a pick up. The deposit represents the first three months payments or is equal to that, is this deposit payment deduced from the overall length of the lease, in my case 60 months? Or does it represent the first three months' worth of payments? What I am trying to say is really, when does the first payment fall due under personal contract hire?

Hello Anna, thanks for your question. I would have to look at your exact quotation to be able to advise. The majority of the contracts will have your initial rental followed by a further 59 rentals, but there are options as you have mentioned where you pay for the last 3 rentals at the start of the contract. This option is not as popular but it does give you a few months rental free at the end of the agreement where you can save for the next initial rental if you take out another vehicle. If you would like to discuss this further, then please contact one of our specialists on 01442 838193. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

Is road tax covered in the lease?

Hello Richard, thanks for your question. Your question depends on which lease you choose. If you choose a contract hire or contract purchase the road tax is included for the duration of the contract. Finance lease will include the first year’s road tax, however, the finance company will then invoice you for the next year. If you would like to discuss this in further detail, please feel free to contact one of our specialists on 01442 838193. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

Do you offer pickups for personal use? Or do you have to own your own business?

Hello Henry, thanks for your question.

We can offer two different leasing options for personal. Below, I have written a brief description of both the terms we offer:

Personal Contract Hire (PCH) is a perfect product for an individual who wants fixed cost motoring and is confident about the mileage and condition of the vehicle over a set period of time. It is an easy and cost-effective way to fund vehicles and it enables you to control one of your biggest expenses. PCH is available with or without a maintenance package, which offers fixed cost motoring with no hidden extras. Personal Contract Hire is similar to Business Contract Hire. However, as an individual, you will not be able to recover any VAT or take advantage of any tax allowances.

Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) is fast becoming one of the most popular ways of financing the new vehicle of your choice, simply due to its flexibility. You choose the car, the deposit, how long you want the contract to run for and the mileage you intend to do. In return, you get fixed cost motoring for the term of the contract. At the end of the contract you have a choice to either buy the car outright for an agreed lump sum (the minimum guaranteed future value), part exchange the car and use the equity you have built up as the deposit on another new car, or hand the vehicle back to the lender and walk away without owing anybody anything (subject to the mileage and condition of the vehicle at this time).

If you'd like to discuss this further please call us on 01442 838 195. Alternatively, please let us know the best contact number for you and I will arrange for one of our specialists to call you. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

If someone hits my business lease van and drives off without leaving any details,am I liable for the cost when I return the van. How does the cost of the damage get calculated? Can I return the van with the damage?

Hello Georgia, thanks for your question. Without seeing the damage it’s hard to advise, but the finance company will charge you for damage when you return the vehicle so I would suggest speaking to your insurance company depending on how bad the damage is. I would suggest fixing the van yourself which will usually cost less than waiting for the finance company to charge you. please give one of the team a call on 01442 838193 if you would like us to look into the damage in a bit more details. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

I'm only 6 months into my Citroen Berlingo lease. Due to unexpected circumstances, I will soon need a larger vehicle. Are there any options to change to leasing something with more seats?

Hello Kurtis, thanks for your question. There certainly are options to come out of your agreement early and the option will be subject to the type of contract you have. If you can let me know your details and I can get your account manager to get in touch to discuss your options in further detail. Kind regards, Mike Daly.

If I was to lease a van for private use would it come with insurance and tax or is that separate many thanks

Hello Dan, thanks for leaving a question on our site. Unfortunately, insurance isn't included with the lease of the vehicle, however, we now offer our own insurance policy that can be added onto your contract. With regards to tax, it depends on which lease you choose. If you choose a contract hire or contract purchase the road tax is included for the duration of the contract. Finance lease will include the first year’s road tax, however, the finance company will then invoice you for the next year. If you would like to discuss this in further detail, please feel free to contact one of our specialists on 01442 838193. Kind regards, Rob Cox.

If a van is taken on from you on lease hire can the vehicle then have our company signwriting on the exterior?

Hello Chris, thanks for your question. You can sign write the van, we recommend using the vinyl type as it is easier to remove. When you reach the end of your contract you will need to have it removed. If the vehicle is on a contract hire agreement this should be removed before returning the van to avoid a charge.  If you are going to wrap the vehicle, you will need to contact the finance company first. If you would like any further information please contact one of our specialists on 01442 838193. Kind regards, Richard Wells.

Hi, I am considering leasing a van for my business but ideally would like it to have company details /branding on exterior. Can you tell me what the restrictions are with this. Thank you.

When you reach the end of your contract you will need to have it removed. If the vehicle is on a contract hire agreement this should be removed before returning the van to avoid a charge.  If you are going to wrap the vehicle, you will need to contact the finance company first. I am approaching the end of the first year of my lease, regarding servicing does this need to be completed at the dealer? Also I have a three year lease will I have to service the car the first, second and third year just prior to handing it back?

Hello Michael, thanks for your question. As part of your contract with the lease company, it would be required to have the vehicle serviced to the manufacturer guidelines. These do vary depending on what vehicle you have. I would recommend contacting one of our specialists on 01442 838195 who will advise when your vehicle’s next service will be. Alternatively, you can book your vehicle into your local dealer as well getting the vehicle serviced at any VAT registered garage as long as they use approved manufacturer parts. Kind regards, Rob Cox.

What happens if the van is written off at any time on a finance lease?

Hello Kevin, thanks for your question. The van would need to be insured fully comprehensive for the duration of the lease, should anything happen to the van the insurance company would agree on an amount with the finance company. If you did decide to go ahead, we offer a Gap insurance product which could protect you if there was any shortfall. If you need any more details on this product or how the contract would work please give one of the team a call on 01442 838192 who will be happy to help. Kind regards, Richard Wells.
